I was planning on the 275/40/17, but want to know if you think i could make the 295 work on my rim?

485hp give or take SBF, street car, Stock Suspension, 5 speed, mostly street with some track time.

Opinions?

I think you'd be better off with the 275's.
Radials typically work better when mounted on a wider rather than narrower wheel. Consider the spec. for staters. The air pressure will be critical on this application, especially the 5-speed part. Radials can be challenging on a stick shift. Radials work best in a dead-hook situation. If they spin it can be tough to make them recover as a bias ply tire does. Try different leave RPM's as well. Lower numbers should help...

Thanks,
Carl
