What is the section width of a 295 MT on a 10" rim? I have BFG's on now and they are 13.5", but I have heard that MT's are not that wide??? How about a 315 on a 10" ?

The 295/65R15 has a section width of around 12.5 on a 10inch wheel


The 315/60R15 has a section width of around 13.5 on a 10inch wheel

My old 295's on a 10" were the same as Turtle said. A good fender roll and the right backspace and they fit perfect in our cars.

Thanks Kyle, I already have the BGF 295 on but they are worn out and I'm looking to replace them and was hoping the MT's were a little narrower as I would like to lower my rear a little. BTW your camaro is looking awesome!! Can't wait to see it done!

I had the same questions this winter. The class of 92 came through (secret club):) The guys at MT mounted up a 295 and a 315 on a 10 inch rim and called me back. A 295 is 12.8 inches and the 315 is 13.3 inches. Exactly a 1/2 inch of section width. I've switched to 315's.

Sweet! Thanks! I went and double checked my 295 BFG's and they measure 13.25". Maybe a 315 is in my future!!!:-D

Is the 315 wider at the transition where the tread rolls over to the sidewall vs. a 29.5x10.5 slick?

I had 325/50/15's on 10" wheels and made for a 13.0" section width.

On M/T's web site it says a 325 on a 10" rim measures 13.1"
