Not sure what to do...the car heats up pretty quick on the street but not until I start moving slowly. At idle it's not too bad.
My turbos/downpipes are fairly close to the radiator and I only have a single 16" puller that moves 1300 cfm (not much). I really don't have much room behind the rad because of the turbos and downpipes. I have a huge howe aluminum radiator but I have my derale trans cooler mounted in front of the rad and it takes up like 60% of the radiator surface area.
Is there any kind of 'expert' I can take my car to and have him go over the whole cooling system and figure out the best way to keep this thing cool. If it wasn't overheating, I could drive this thing everywhere.
For example, when I make a pass down the track, the temps start at say 180 and will end at like 195 tops. I had a bye run this weekend and they started at the same 180 but by the turn-around they were almost 230 degrees and 250 by the time I got back to my pit area. It heats up more if I just lolly pop down the track than if I fly down it but I'm not sure why.
Some people have suggested too little of timing for part throttle stuff...other people said a single 1300 cfm fan with a trans cooler blocking half the radiator is no good either...the trans cooler does have a little 500 cfm pusher on it but I doubt it has enough power to push through the double-pass cooler AND the big 3" thick radiator.
Any help or contacts? I want to get this resolved sometime soon so I can drive this thing around again.
Thanks in advance,
Sean
