Not sure what to do...the car heats up pretty quick on the street but not until I start moving slowly. At idle it's not too bad.

My turbos/downpipes are fairly close to the radiator and I only have a single 16" puller that moves 1300 cfm (not much). I really don't have much room behind the rad because of the turbos and downpipes. I have a huge howe aluminum radiator but I have my derale trans cooler mounted in front of the rad and it takes up like 60% of the radiator surface area.

Is there any kind of 'expert' I can take my car to and have him go over the whole cooling system and figure out the best way to keep this thing cool. If it wasn't overheating, I could drive this thing everywhere.

For example, when I make a pass down the track, the temps start at say 180 and will end at like 195 tops. I had a bye run this weekend and they started at the same 180 but by the turn-around they were almost 230 degrees and 250 by the time I got back to my pit area. It heats up more if I just lolly pop down the track than if I fly down it but I'm not sure why.

Some people have suggested too little of timing for part throttle stuff...other people said a single 1300 cfm fan with a trans cooler blocking half the radiator is no good either...the trans cooler does have a little 500 cfm pusher on it but I doubt it has enough power to push through the double-pass cooler AND the big 3" thick radiator.

Any help or contacts? I want to get this resolved sometime soon so I can drive this thing around again.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

I would get the system pressure tested first. Do you run any additives like royal purple ice or redline watter wetter?

I run redline but I've run without too no real difference.

There are no leaks and it holds pressure. I'm thinking lack of airflow?

Is the tune up causing it to run hot?

Do you use a thermostat? If not, you may need to slow the water flow down through the Rad.

I dont know if it will fit but the fans from lincoln mark VIII's pull something like 4000cfm.

Possibly...was going over a few things with your boy and he's going to take a look (mr. bailey).

That's in the works...something to note is that my trans temps are ALWAYS super low...could be having to do with them taking up the prime airflow location and then sending hot air through the rad? Trans NEVER gets over like 150 on the street and I don't think I've seen it over 180 on the track even after being on the tbrake for 2-3 seconds and then doing a full pass. It's the biggest baddest derale dual-pass cooler.

I'm moving my tranny cooler to the back with its own fan and popping two of these on the front of the rad:

1650 cfm 12 inch push/pull. 7.5 amps 2400 rpm.
Perma-cool Turbo-flex

It's got turbo in the name so you know it'll kick some ass.

Going to leave my 1300 cfm puller on it so if it doesn't stay cool now I will burn it to the ground!

LOL, overkill is good!
