I was wondering if the longer run out of the 315/60 vs the 325/50 would make a big difference in traction at the track? I would like to run the 325's, but if the 315's would have the potential to hook better, then I will do what it takes to make them fit.
thanks

the 315 is 2" taller, and has .3 wider tread according to MT's site. Section width on the 325 is .2 greater. A taller, wider tire should get you more forward bite. Unless the extra height would screw up your gearing.

The taller side wall will help also I would rather run a 295 than a 325 I have run both and the 295 was faster in 60

I don't have the gear yet. I am putting this tire on my 66 Chevelle. I will have to make some room for either tire, but I think if I go with the 325 I won't have as much trouble getting the tire tucked up.
But if the 325 will hurt my potential to hook I will go with the 315.
Thanks for the replies

Good question, but the posts above are on track. Some people have run fast on the 325, but more rollout and tread width on these tires will help. (as everything else is the same, construction, compound etc) This also takes into consideration that the gearing is optimized for each size as well. The quickest and fastest passes have been on the 315's.
