sbc 4.11 gears ,TCI turbo 400, around 690 hp 5500 stall converter heres the prob damm car hits the rev limiter in every gear, MSD set at 7800 and gets there really quick just wondering idf converter might be shot or the MSD is not functioning correctly the box is new the converter has around 35 runs on it and is around 4-5 years old
what ya think?

Might be the ignition? What ignition are you running? Also, if the converter/trans are broke the trans fluid will probably smell burnt. What does the trans fluid look/smell like?

MSD digi 6 wit the HVC II coil 99.9% sure wiring is correct tranny oil looks good no smell of burnt stuff it does have a slight leak from pan The car hasnt been shakin down in quite a while ,tranny fluid is at good level all I can think is maybe the tach and the settings on the shift light activates the rev limiter "shot in the dark"
just seems to me the rpms get up there way to fast
here some numbers for you if you think it might help you help me!
my 60 1.438
330 4.311
1/8 6.762 @ 100.722
10.722 @ the 1/4 mile 122.32mph

Check the linkage on the shifter. Make sure that the detent in the cable fits perfectly through the hole in the shift arm on the trans in all gears. If it's off a little you might not be all the way in gear.
Also, the digital 6 ignitions have a problem with the rev limiter sometimes. Take a small screwdriver and crank the rev limit all the way up and down a few times. It's wierd but sometimes they'll get stuck at low rpms. Running the rpm switch through it's full travel seems to free them up.

Just my two cents but that converter may be a tad too big, the culprit is probably your gear choice, how big are your tires and what rpm are you spinnin' through the traps

What brand of converter is it ? not knowing the weight of your car ? to the 1/8 the numbers look pretty good but your mph seems kind of low for your et ...........................take a good look at your valvesprings coil bind sounds very very similar to a rev limiter going off hope this helps Glenn

MT's 28/10.5/15 car weighs in @ 2900 with me in it
only other thing I have changed since last outting was i added a tubed front clip wich knocked off around 150 lbs ,possibly I am not getting the weight transfer and she spinning all thru the run, I limited the amount of front end travel with some links. it never picked up the skinnies this time out and allways had before and she is now 150 lb liter up front...
