hello j i'm going to be running nmca mean street next you . i need a camshaft that is only allowed .550lift and any duration. must run flat top pistons and out of the box heads. i'm looking at going with the brodix rr 180cc heads, this is one of thespec heads allowed and a victor jr intake.a 750 cfm carb is all that is alowed.my combo is a 3.48 stoke sbc .060 6" eagle h beam rods. also alowed to shave the head and block as much as i want. my car hopefully buy then will wieght 3250. 1974 buick apollo(bastard nova)will be running a 350 turbo. i have 4.10 gear but thinking of 4.56. i also can only run a 275/60/15 brg drag radial for tires. i was just wondering if you would be willing to help out on this problem i have of getting the right cam for this class and combo. most peopl are running mid to low 10's. i was looking at turnnin around 7500rpm or what is best for the combo thanks

I have done (3) of these camshafts. I will tell you right up front that the guys that are going fast have mega bucks in the valve train. I am not saying that you do not already know this. I am NOT inferring that you won't do whatever it takes. I am simply stating what I already know.

These camshafts are VERY tricky (as is any lift limited deal). If you are TRUELY interested, I need you to get to my site and complete a build sheet. Again, these cams are TRICKY. I spent well over 3 hours on the last one I did. Please only complete a sheet if you are interested.

On something as tricky as this, I will not make any guesses. The cam/spring/lifter/rockers are the key to these engines.

Thanks.
