I have a NOS inline billet filter. It seems like a good idea to use it, and it didn't cost me anything (came off a car I used to have). First question is, I'm I right that it can't hurt to use it? Second question is, if I'm going to use it, where should it go, back by the bottle (thinking about mounting it to the frame rail if I mount it in back) or up front under the hood? I can get it to work, placement wise either place.

I use it to fill my bottles & thats it. I have a line that adapts my -6 bottles to his -4 pump & I use it every time. but I dont use it on the car.

I'm with Bob, filter on the way in, not the way out.

Just may sure to cap the line in your line when its not hooked to a bottle to keep junk out of it.

OK, I can see your point and can agree...how concerned am I at this point that my old bottles have junk in them?

then empty them, take them appart & clean them. dont be TOO surprised if they have a little oxidation in them, they are after all aluminum. blow them out & fill them back up & your good to go.

Hopefully you have filters in the fittings. Just remove them for inspection once in a while for safety reasons. The inline filters should only be used on your fill station..
