Jay, I think my cam choice may be a little to big. First the engine particulars;

-468 BBC
-AFR 315 CNC heads
-11.0-1 2618 Diamond Pistons
-1090 cfm Barry Grant
-Brodix HV intake portmatched about 2.5 inches in
-Eagle rods and crank
-bushed stock dia lifters

Now the cam...

cyl head flow #'s

int ext
200 109 146
300 249 184
400 312 236
500 353 271
600 380 296
700 386 310
800 387 315

the car is 3600#'s and has gone 10.35@130 through the exhaust, on pump gas and street tires. I was expecting around 700-750 hp, and ten teens in the quarter. Our old sbc(406) went 10.62@124 with a better 60 foot time. The car goes through the traps @7000rpms with a 4.10 gear and a 29\11.50-15 et street. The converter is a 4500 8inch.

any advice would be appreciated!

LSA?

Where is it installed?

Duration at .200?

Who ground it?

i show about 605hp or so to run your numbers at 3600 lbs. there is more ET and mph left in better tires and a looser converter, so you figure 10.20 at around 131mph. That becomes 620hp. Then, if you ran in typical summer conditions, you can correct that by 1.08 to around 670hp. Finally, dump your exhaust like you would on the engine dyno, and you would probably see almost 700hp. So, you are not that far off your estimations after all...

Looks like your heads have a cross section limitation that stalls the flow at .600". Fixing this problem would help a lot, but you would have to reevalutate your combo to work with the extra cross section. That means a larger manifold, more compression, and more valve lift. Definetly more rpm, like 7500-7800 too.
