Thanks to Jay Allen at Camshaft Innovations. The camshaft he provided for me gave me exactly the performance I wanted. We dynoed the turbo engine yesterday (without the turbo) and it performed beyond my expectations. Naturally aspriated with a carb the engine put down 556.8 @ 6300rpm, and 507tq at 5200rpm... With a turbo, and some psi on this thing, it's gonna be kinda crazy.... It's getting a PT101, and fuel injection.. After seeing these numbers yesterday, I'm mega stoaked! Thanks again Jay!
Here's the specs:
400cid SBC
Dart Little M Block
Oliver billet rods (6.0")
Bill Miller 9.0:1 pistons (tops and skirts coated)
Callies Dragonslayer Crankshaft
AFR 227 Competition CNC Heads
Felpro MLS Head Gaskets
Camshaft Innovations custom grind solid roller turbo cam, Click here for specs. (http://amarilloracers.com/brant/cam_specs.jpg)

Dude them are some killer numbers for a turbo motor.. Hang on tight!! You gonna dyno with the turbo as well?

Nah, the shop didn't have enough open dyno time for me to throw the turbo and everything on it.... That, and I'm still short a wastegate and BOV.. I was mega happy with the numbers... I can't wait to get this thing all buttoned up now... :)

I am still shocked that it made that kind of power with low compression and everything set up for a turbo. The camshaft is only (1) piece to the puzzle. I am quite sure for that engine to be that good every *I* must be dotted and every *T* is crossed.
Great Job!

The engine was built by Brad Klein.... He used to run Pro Stock with Bill Jenkins. Brad's the owner of Dream Chaser Racing Engines... So I also owe a lot of thanks to Brad at Dream Chaser. :) www.dreamchaserracing.com
Here's one of his pro stock cars, and also his 04 comp eliminator cavalier:

Brad Klein used to be a World Record Holder. Actually both he and Kim Barr used to swap places at setting that record in the class. I am thinking it was in B/FX but not for sure about it.
At first glance I saw your numbers and truthfully was not impressed at all. Any cam or for that matter almost any engine of that size could do those numbers. I have many daily street engines on pump gas doing at least that.
Then came Ooops!
Hey! That is just a 9.00-1 engine. Well Lookie here!
That is bad to the bone with that compression. Well done to everyone on that one.

holy smokes, did you see the correction factor on that? i show 1.28 using the BSFC and fuel flow numbers. then i check what the altitude in Amarillo is...3600 ft! plus, 90*, high humidity, and low barometer. try tuning that and then go run it on the east coast...scary!
