I am just getting started in drag racing"legally".
I have a street legal 71 nova.
sbc 355,twin 450cfm holley with a hillbourne scoop sticking out of the
hood,comp cam,world heads,trw 12-1 pistons,@ 500hp.
no brake or box,only mod to suspension is J bolt traction bars.

I have never raced on the strip and I am not sure what class I and my
car would or will run in.My best quess at a time would be @12.00
with the gears I have in it now(3.08) I plan on putting in 4.10 and a
mini spool before it sees the track.

Does anyone know what class my car will quallify for?
Or what would be the best starter class for a novice like myself?

I was thinking about running the STS at mid-michigan.
do I have to have the complete engine under a hood or does the hillbourn
quallify as a flame arrester?

You should be legal for the STS at Stanton.. If not come on down to Milan and run the brackets on Friday... I think we all started bracket racing at the begining.. There is a lot to be learned in bracket racing...Its not heads up but a good place to start IMO...

I thought that bracket no box,foot brake is where Im going to start,but I am
already starting the planing on the next motor and car.
