86stang is right it was slick that weekend from what I have been told but I'm sure any racer with any smarts will realize that 97 degree weather coupled with a humididex of 118 degrees and a track temp of over 150 degrees means a slick track and I mean all tracks from Norwalk to Indy, in those conditions there is very little you can do to get a great track but for such bad weather they did have a good track I think if you look at the pics the ZEX car had the front wheels 3 to 4 feet in the air and most of the index guys where only running a couple hundreds off, so all in all the track was very exceptional for the conditions.

Why does everyone look for excuses? If the track isn't the best then you learn to tune the chassis for the track conditions! That's what racing is all about, The fastest car isn't always the fastest at every track. Some of my better et's came from St.Thomas and we couldn't run the #'s on what was suppose to be better tracks. It doesn't mean my car is any faster.

Because it's never there fault it's always the track  by the way yesterday at St T I know a couple of guys that had there best 60's ever, see what happens when you work on it instead of blaming everything else. :o

Do you really think a track that has been run for over 40 years and raced on by thousands has never been checked? I personally talked to may people that have told me they have checked it them selves, maybe this is a romour that was started by other tracks that weren't as good ? I think the romour is DEAD it's just folk lore now
