Gotta have mufflers on fridays. If you do, you may be able to fit into mean street, here are the rules cause i don't know the particulars of your car. go to racewaypark.com and click on drag classes then click on any one of the classes for rules. This was the 2008 format and should be the same in 2009.

It doesnt sound like it will be mean street "legal" but I hear they are gonna have an index series this season. I believe 10.0, 11.50 and maybe 12.50 ????
They also run just a plain old gambler race on certain nights. Just make sure your car doesn't have straight thru muffs and passes the 90 decibal limit.

the index's will be 8.50 10.0 and 11.50. Your car does not sound like it fits in the mean street class. Sounds like its either time trials or gamblers on a friday night.
Heres a copy of the rules:
1. Racing- Handicapped racing on a full tree.
2. Mufflers- Mufflers required (Mean Street & Top Street). In Mean Street if your car is too loud, you will not be able to race. No bullet style mufflers. Car Must be "Street" muffled. Exhaust must extend beyond driver’s door.
3. Body- Full bodied factory rear wheel drive street type cars only. Grilles and bumpers must be on car. If front bumpers are not used, cars must have complete roll pan.
4. Safety- You must meet all NHRA an NJ State Safety requirements for your performance level.
5. Lettering, etc.- No race car lettering, decals or magnetic stickers anywhere on the body surface or the hood.
6. Hoods- Mean Street: flat or cowl hoods only, factory functional hood scoops or ram air permitted. Top Street: hood scoops must not be more then 9" above base of hood.
7. All factory street equipment - lights, mirrors, grilles, bumpers, etc. needed for the exterior.
8. Interior- Cars must resemble factory street type interior factory dash, door panels, 2 front seats, factory carpeting front and rear, headliner, etc. (no gutted or bracketized interior allowed) up to Raceway Park Management.
9. Electronics- No delay boxes - transbrakes ok.
10. Glass- Mean Street: Full factory type glass front and rear windshield with roll down windows, NO LEXAN. Top Street: Full factory roll down windows Lexan front and rear windshield OK.
11. Drivetrain- No planetary or clutchless transmissions allowed.
12. Chassis- Mean Street: No tube chassis allowed. Front wheel drive conversion cars are legal Top Street: Back half or square tube cars are permitted. No round tube cars. Front wheel drive conversion cars are legal.
13. Tires- Mean Street & Top Street: Unlimited Tire rules.
14. Fuel- Mean Street: Leaded or unleaded pump gas only. Top Street: Leaded or unleaded pump gas or methanol only.
15. NOS- Nitrous Oxide is permitted.
16. Ladders- NHRA Sportsman ladder. i.e. 1 vs 9, 2 vs 10, etc.
17. Qualifying- Mean Street: One qualifying session at 6:45 pm, first round 7:45 pm. Pairing starts at 7:35 pm, alternates inserted at 7:40 pm. Top Street: There will be two qualifying sessions, when possible, starting as early as 10:30am. Certain Sundays are one time shot/qualifying race days and other factors may effect number of qualifying sessions.
18. #1 qualifier must run first round to receive award.
19. If you cannot run first round, tell a track official prior to eliminations.
20. Lane choice is determined by a coin flip each round.
21. No reruns for wrong dial-in’s. Check your dial in before you stage.
22. Up to 32 cars qualify. Mean Street: 13.99 and quicker. Top Street: 11.99 and quicker.
23. During Round Robin a round runs every 15 minutes, so get back in the lanes ASAP. We are running under curfews.
24. Raceway Park Management has the final word as to whether a car is legal for "MEAN STREET" or "TOP STREET".

Did they change anything on the 8.50 index..My car has a two piece nose and fiberglass doors.Hood is seperate. It has all funtioning lights front and back, signals etc.Interior is carpeted and I have door panels. They are aluminum and painted flat black. Its neat and clean.I will be putting 33x10.5 tire in rear.Mufflers are two chamber Flowmasters.I read the rules twice does it sound like it will fall into that class? They told me to call back later at Raceway Park.No one could give me a straight answer.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
