I fish for big blues and flatheads year round here in Missouri. Caught my personal best blue last year, went 84 pounds, rod and reel, released to be caught again. Caught a few over 50 in 2007, and a bunch in the 20-30 pound range in 2008. Hopefully 2009 will be another good year. I'm at work or I'd post pics, will do when I get home. Chris

We fish for Pacific Blues here in the islands. It's "winter" now in Hawaii and the bite is a little slow right now.
So......that means more time with the Camaro!:D

Blownfastback would you mind PM me the bait you use. I have found a hole that will not produce fish but I know they are there.

I fish for big flattys in the cedar and mississippi river around here. I will be going on a missouri (blue cats unlimited) guide fishing trip this year. Use( fresh) cut skip jack in missouri (JUST CUT THE HEAD OFF AND USE THE ENTIRE FISH FOR THE BIG ONES) and use live 11-12in suckers , sunnies, blue gills or bullheads for bait for the big flattys. Also make sure you use 120 pound test power pro, and 10-13/0 hooks preferably mustad circle hooks. I you use the circle hooks dont set the hook, let it set itself and make sure your pole is on a shallow angle and is pointed towards the bait. Good luck fishing guys and post some pics when you get the big ones.
