2010 US Street Nationals Bradenton Coverage-SLTV

The first race of the year for Street Legal TV starts at the first big race of the year at Bradenton, the US Nationals. Though there isn't an Outlaw 10.5 class this year, there will be a big showing of drag radial cars with the ORTC collaboration. Other classes will include Outlaw Pro Mod, Pro Street, Outlaw 632, Real Street and more! Check back all weekend for coverage.

I am getting a late start today but did arrive just in time to get some shots of the last few cars down the track in today’s test session.

Dan Bandish laid down a nice 3.99 @ 189 in his blown Pro Mod Camaro.

Drag Radial racer Tony Ridenour got down easy and managed a low 4.7 pass @ 158 MPH.

Aaron Gramer put his Real Street Mustang in the groove to the tune of a 5.41 @ 131.

Round one qualifying begins at 3 PM. Right now I am headed to the pits to check on what I missed this morning.

Dan Bandish just had an incident on the top end after running a 3.96. the car is over the wall, Dan is shaken up but OK.

After that I dropped in on Chad Opaleski. All is fine with them tonight just routine maintenance. They did run a 4.82 in testing this morning, a new personal best. Chad and Jamie also just recently rewire the car with a Spaghetti Menders system.

Josh Klugger is here this weekend as well with a borrowed engine from team mate Kevin Fiscus. Klugger broke the converter today, and thy are installing a borrowed piece for the next qualifying session.

This afternoon I thought I saw some smoke from Pirez’ Camaro. Sure enough it got a piston on the run. They were just getting things rolling when I stopped by earlier.

here are the Q2 sheets. Working on pictures from the round and break for lunch. We jusyt had a little drizzle with Q3 scheduled for 3 PM
